6333S Set with a four car Silver Monorail
Okay, here it is, the granddaddy of all the Schuco Disneyland
Monorail sets! These are getting really hard to find. This is
the first one I have had for sale since 2009!!! I will go over
the good and bad of this set. First, this set has one of the nicest
plastic inserts I have seen. There are no visible cracks. There
is one that you really don't see along the right hand side at
the edge bend and a weak part with a small hole in the right bottom
corner. As collectors know, the yellow insert in this condition
is tough to find. Unfortunately, the box lid and bottom are the
weakest part of this set. There are several pieces of the lid's
sides missing and some rips in the bottom. A positive is that
the graphic and top of the lid is fairly good and does display
well from straight on.
There are over 200 parts in a S set, and all of them are present.
Everything is original EXCLUDING the black and red wires. Reproduction
wheels have been installed on the monorail, but the originals
are included. The silver monorail runs great! The are some scuffs
on the monorail, especially on the silver paint. The red paint
is very good. The windows are yellowing and all appear to be a
consistant shade. I am listing the monorail in Good condition.
I do believe you will be happy with it.
Both switches and block signals are in working order. The switches
have been oiled and greased. All the blubs in the block signals
have been checked.
For paperwork, you will receive the 24 page German manual that
came with this set, the Maintenance sheet, the switch instruction
sheet, and the block signal instruction sheet! Except for some
folds, these are in Good condition. There is some writing on the
Maintenance sheet on the front and you can see that in the picture.
The track is super nice and of course clean, ready for you to
use! Overall, a Very Good S set which will be great in your collection
and will add to any operation.

6333 S Set with a four car Sky Blue Monorail
Click here to view the pictures |
Wow! Seldom do I have one S set for sale, let alone two! I am
lucky to get one S set a year, and in 2010, I did not have any.
I guess having two in 2011 makes up for the missing one in 2010!
This is a nice set, and overall displays very well. There are
some cracks in the yellow insert with the worst part to the right
of the switches. All the lid is present on this one, though someone
did some creative repairs, especially in the lower right hand
corner. Again, most of the wear and tear of the lid is on the
sides, so the overall set really diplays beautifully.
The sky blue monorail has some chips in the silver paint and some
in the blue, too. This is most obvious on the front unit. The
middle and rear cars are in Very Good condition, but I'll rate
the monorail overall in Good, again because of the front unit.
I have taken several pictures from different angles for you to
look at. Remember, one does not usually put their face right up
against the monorail like I do with the camera. I want you to
see the flaws, but I also want you to know how well the overall
appearance of this set is. Compare the close ups and the wide
shots and judge for yourself.
As usual, I've made sure that all the parts are present. This
set INCLUDES the original wires and most of the paperwork that
came with a S set. The monorail runs fantastic. Of course there
are new wheels installed. The switches and block signals are guaranteed
to work when they come to your house.
Despite the fact that I now have two S sets, these are getting
harder and harder to find. And when they do show up, very seldom
are all the parts included or working. I've seen several where
the yellow insert is in pieces and the lid is completely missing!
The blue four car monorail is even harder to find, and this one
has great matching colors throughout the whole unit. I believe
you will really enjoy having this S set in your collection. |

6333G Second generation set with a sky BLUE monorail.
|
This is the second generation set where the monorail has the weight
plates and the rear tail fins. THIS IS ALSO A SET WITH A VERY
HARD TO FIND BOX. The box lid has the red paper around it and
the picture that was used on the boxed monorails. This picture
is always of a red monorail. The front of a manual is also glued
onto the top of the box lid. In this case, it is the front of
an English manual. I have also seen the front of an Italian manual
and a German manual on this style of lid. This lid is extremely
hard to find and was probably one of the last sets made by Schuco.
I am assuming that they had run out of cardboard lids with the
printed graphic which was common to most sets, and instead put
on the red paper used for S and American sets, the monorail picture
that was on the individual monorail boxes, and a manual front
page. This was probably less expensive than the first graphic
box lid used.
The monorail is in GOOD+ condition with some small paint bumps
on the front engine nose. The lettering on the skirts have a little
fade to them, but not bad. The rear car is EXCELLENT! The middle
car is GOOD with some knicks on the blue paint on the top. I am
pointing out the flaws, but overall, this monorail will be one
of the nicest ones you will see and it runs fantastic. New wheels
are installed, as usual.
All parts are present INCLUDING the original Schuco wires. The
#18 U clips are still in their original bag. You are also going
to receive the original 24 paged German manual, the maintenance
sheet, and the pink warning sheet telling new owners to use a
DC transformer. |

6333G Second generation set with RED monorail
This is a super nice G set. I'm only marking the condition down
to Good+ instead of Very Good because there has been some repairs
on the box lid. There is one small piece missing in the lower
left side corner. I took a picture of that area for you to view.
I think you will agree that you may have missed it if I had not
pointed it out.
The red monorail is also in Very Good conditon with very few paint
flaws. There is a paint flaw on the silver noise of the rear unit,
but is not that offensive. As always, the monorail has new wheels
installed and runs well.
Overall I think you will really like this set. All parts are present,
and original, including the wires! There is no paperwork. Look
at the pictures and see if you would like this set in your collection! |

6333 G Second generation set with BLUE monorail
When you first look at this set, you may think you are in a hobby
shop in the 1960's! The box is in very nice shape. Sure, there
are some slight marks and wear from sitting around for the last
50 years, but you won't find much better today.
Inside, all parts are present including the original Schuco red
and black wires. The blue monorail displays very well, but the
rear car is a different shade of blue when compared to the front
and middle units. The rear car has held its sky blue color while
the front two units have turned to that duller blue color. There
are some paint chips or scratches on the side of the rear car
and the front of the engine unit. I'll let you look at the pictures
so you can determine how nice of a monorail this is.
Paperwork does include the German, 24 page manual and maintenance
sheet. Whoever owned this set must have loved going through and
dreaming about what was inside the manual as it is really beat.
The front and back pages are completely loose. Still, it is
always fun to get some of the original paperwork and all the pages
are there.
Overall, this is a super nice set with a great running monorail.
Sometimes pointing out the flaws takes away from the beauty of
a set. Please enjoy the pictures and hopefully you will add this
one to your collection. |

Another beautiful G set that I am offering you! I have been very
fortunate in obtaining some super nice sets. The only thing keeping
me from listing this set as Like New is a couple of paint chips
and some wire window rubs on the front engine.
The box is crisp, the track is clean, the pylons gray, and of
course all the parts are present, even the original Schuco wires.
You also receive the German 24 page manual and the maintenance
sheet.
This monorail is ready to run! I'll let the pictures speak for

6333/99 Accessory Set
I have been fortunate enough to come across another Accessory
Set! You are lucky to see one of these a year, but how often do
you come across one that looks like it came straight from the
hobby shop shelf? This set still has the Schuco tape going across
all the accessories to keep them in place in the clear plastic
insert. All the small parts are in their original bags. This is
truly a brand new set. The labels have some bumps on them, probably
from shipping or shelf storage. I am sure you will not find one
better.
A couple of notes here. First, I cannot get to the tracks to clean
them without flipping the plastic insert out and taking off the
Schuco tape. Therefore, this is going to be one of the few times
you will ever get track from me that is not shiny brass. Second,
though there is a NEW bag of pins in the set, the tracks also
have pins in them. This is somewhat puzzling, but I do have a
MINT 6333/99 accessory set in my personal collection and it has
the same configuration. In fact, the pins are placed in the tracks
identically--same sides, etc. I am sure this is the way it came
from the Schuco factory. So, you are getting the pins in the 14
tracks, PLUS the 15 bagged pins! |

24 Page Color Manual in FRENCH!
I believe I have seen maybe three of these since I have been collecting
Schuco Disneyland monorails. One is in my collection, one may
have been on Ebay, and the other I am offering to you now!
The English version of the 24 page manual is considered very rare,
but I have owned at least 5 of those and have seen several more
go for incredible prices on Ebay.
This manual is in Very Good condition with the only fault that
I can see is a crease in the first three leafs, pages 1 thruogh
6. I see no other marks. I'll let you study the pictures. If
you collect rare Schuco Disneyland items, don't pass up on this
one! |

Blue 3 car Monorail
Second Generation
This is a nice running blue monorail. It has its flaws, but overall
will look great buzzing around your layout!
I'll let you take a look at the pictures, but will point out some
of the flaws. First, as usual, the shades of blue do not match.
The back and rear cars are sky blue, but the front car has faded
to that turquoise color. Some of the lettering is fading on the
skirts, and some of the words are missing on the decal on the
rear car. All this can be observed in the pictures.
This monorail has the plate weights in the front and the tail
fins on the back. New wheels have been installed, and it looks
beautiful while in operation. If you want a blue monorail to operate
and not have to worry about chipping the paint while doing so,
this will be the one! |

Red 3 car Monorail
First Generation
Need a starter monorail? This is the one! I'm marking this red
Mark I monorail down to FAIR only because of the front unit. It
has some cracks, the silver paint on the noise has been painted,
and the bolster has been broken and reglued. The middle and rear
cars are actually not too bad. There is some rubbing wear on the
skirts, but the paint is pretty good.
Remember, this monorail does NOT have the weights or the rear
tail fins. It runs great and looks good in operation. The windows
have all turned yellow, but they are all the same color.
I'm going to let you look at the pictures and decide on this one.
I have never offered a monorail for so little! Worth the price
in parts alone. |

Red middle car. Very nice red paint with a minor knick on the

them. |

Red middle car. It looks like the Schuco factory got something
oily on the shell before painting this one and the result was
a "crackling" of the red paint on top. This shows up well in the
pictures.
Still, if you need a middle red car, it will look okay while running
around the track. It also displays fine in a set box since the
paint flaws are on the top portion of the unit. |

| NOTE ON TRACK and PINS |
Schuco did not give center pins with their track, at least not
through most of its production of the monorails. They did include
a pin later because the warning label that you had to purchase
a #19 was not on the late 60's boxes. Usually, pins had to be
purchased separately. However, my price includes one center pin with any track you purchase. That is over a dollar
savings! Switches will have 5 pins included. ALL OF MY BRASS TRACK
COMES TO YOU CLEAN AND SHINY, READY FOR YOU TO USE. I do not know
of anyone else who will make this claim!!! |

Loose Used Straight Track/Brass. It takes me at least 15 minutes
to clean one track, sometimes as long as an hour! Most look like
new, but sometimes there is some oxidation on the steel connecting
tubes, thus the reason for the GOOD to LIKE NEW range.
Schuco continually changed the production process of the tracks,
so if you are looking for a specific style, email me and I will
let you know if I have it. I priced my track to reward those who
purchase larger amounts.
Sure you can buy cheaper track on Ebay, but expect hours of cleaning
and probably some unuseable tracks with the lot. I don't think
you will find cleaner tracks than the ones listed here! |

Schuco put some of their straight tracks in a #16 insulated track

faint "5" stamped over it. Nice box to add to a collection and
great tracks to add to a layout! |

Automatic controller which is activated by a monorail to control
up to two switches. These look like they came off a layout and
maybe were glued to a board? The bottom is rough, but this does
not affect its operation. I have tested all of them on my test
track and each one works perfectly. Watch out for broken #26's
on Ebay. One of the things to look for are the metal outlets raised
away from the plastic body. This could possibly mean a bad connection
internally. These cannot be taken apart and repaired easily. ALL

| NOTES on PYLONS |
Over the years, the gray plastic used to make the pylons turns
yellow, even brown. This is due to the oxidation of the plastic
over the years. The yellowing is really evident on some pylons
that have been in sets for years. The part exposed more to light
and air will be yellow and the bottom part in the insert will
be gray. It is difficult to list all the shades, so I am no longer
going to attempt to do so. However, if you order multiple pylons,
I will try to match them as well as possible. If you are trying
to match a color, I will try to help you with that also. My suggestion
is to exchange photos or even send me an example.
You should put a pylon in at least every other track. So 100 tracks
would take a minimum of 50 pylons. I would suggest no more than
a 25mm incline or decline for every two tracks, though several
Schuco layouts in the manual show as much as 35mm difference.
Most of the pylons can be stacked, like Legos, so you can create
almost any height imaginable. For example, two 25mm pylons stacked
together make a 50mm pylon. A 45mm and a 40mm make an 85mm. I
like to cross over or under with a minimum of 50mm of clearance,
so if you have 85mm of pylons above (a 45mm and a 40mm stacked
together), you can use the 35mm pylons on the track below. |

| NOTE ON #150's |
The Schuco transformer is by far the best choice to run your monorails.
It has all the correct voltages that you need. However, over the
years, the bridge rectifiers in these transformers are drying
out. They can be repaired, but you have to drill out rivets to
get inside the transformer. Parts to repair them are around $6.00,
so it is an inexpensive fix, but the look of the transformer will
more than likely be forever changed. Because you never know when
the original rectifiers will go out, I cannot guarantee the transformers
for a length of time. I will however guarantee that when they
arrive to your location, they will be working. This way you take
no risk at that time. Also, as with any toy train transformer,
the operator is responsible for unplugging it when not in use.
An unattended old transformer is just asking for trouble!
The 220 transformers are starting to get harder to find, but are
still less expensive than the 110's. Consider buying a converter
and a 220 volt transformer. |

110 volt Schuco monorail transformer. These are super hard to

probably a flaw in the printing of the decal and is very minor.
I have tested all the outputs with a voltmeter and everything
checks out perfectly. I am so confident that this transformer
will work for you that I will guarantee it for 90 days. That means
if it quits working, just send it back and I'll refund your money.
I'll even pay for the shipping for its return. Who else will do
that with a 40+ year old transformer? You are still responsible
for unplugging it when you are not using it. |

| MRC TechII Loco Motion 1500 transformer |
This is the closest modern transformer I can find to the Schuco
#150. It has a 20 volt DC variable output, a 17 volt AC fixed
output, and a 22 volt DC fixed output. So the variable output
is about 10 volts less than the #150, the AC is about 2 volts
higher, and the fixed DC is around 5 volts lower. I have used
these on a couple of layouts, and they run the monorails and switches
fine. The two extra volts does not seem to bother the block signals.
This is a fun transformer to operate! It has a Momentum function which when turned on, gradually lowers
or raises the speed of the monorail. It has a Brake function which
slowly stops the monorail. Unfortunately, this transformer is
no longer in production, but is still readily available. I believe
it retailed for as much as $59 when new. I've checked these out
and they are guaranteed to work when they arrive at your layout!
They originally came with a 5 year warranty, so they must have
been a pretty reliable unit. MRC is still in business today, so
even if you ever had a problem in the future, I am guessing you
could send it in for repairs. All units are 110 volts. |

According to the electronic experts, this is the best modern transformer

close to that price on Ebay. There is only one output on this transformer, and it is a DC variable
one. I purchased these transformers as "old stock" from the store

rubber. You need 4 wheels for the power unit. These tend to bounce
the rear car a little, but are okay to put in. If your rear car
is dragging because of worn wheels, put these in or try the used
ones listed two slots below. |

Reproduction Rubber Wheel ONLY for white or gray capped wheels
or Type C. Wheels have a square hole and are made of a thicker
rubber. You need 4 wheels for the power unit. These wheels need
to be stretched onto the hub and do not just slide on like the
originals. They will fit and will add traction to your monorail.
These are usually not the type in the rear car. |

| Schuco Classic Tin Toys BOOK |
"Schuco Classic Tin Toys: The Collector's Guide" by Chris Knox.
The sticker price on this book is $29.95, but I have been able
to find some brand new ones for about half the cost! This is a
beautiful book that goes into detail about several of the toys
Schuco made throughout its history. The pictures are fantastic.
Of course, there are a couple of pages about the Schuco Disneyland
monorails! This book, which is no longer in print, will look good
on any coffee table. That is where our copy is! |

| Rail Zip |
This is the liquid electrical conduction fluid that I highly recommend
for the monorails. A bottle of this lasts a long time. After 15
years of operating the monorails, I have just opened my third
bottle of Rail Zip. I put a drop of this on each of the pickups
on the engine unit and let it spread the Rail Zip around. Though
it won't make up for not having clean track, once you clean your
track (or simply buy it from me already cleaned), the Rail Zip
will make sure the monorails get a good electrical connection
with the track. Some collectors also use it as a track cleaner.
I've not have had any trouble shipping this, even overseas, but
it is a liquid. There is no toxic smell and it can be wiped up
with water on a damp cloth! |

| Perfect track cleaner/eraser |
I like cleaning the monorail track with this while watching TV.
It is the best nonchemical way I know of to clean the tracks.
Just rub the brass rails and soon 45 years of dirt and tarnish
comes off. It does take some elbow grease to clean the tracks
this way. The eraser has a hole in the middle which allows you
to pass a brass rail through it and really get them shiney (and
hot from the friction!). I spend a minimum of 15 minutes a track,
and have spent up to an hour on some really grimey ones, but once
it is done, you are pretty much set to go for several years with
a simple rub down (either with the Perfect track cleaner or a
good liquid track cleaner) every once in awhile. Nothing toxic
or chemically, though you do get a lot of eraser debris after
awhile. I clean my tracks over a towel, then when I'm done for
the evening, I simply take the towel outside and give it a couple
of shakes. |
